In this video, we're discussing some recent statements out of top officials from HHS and how they are demanding billions of additional dollars for the low income through very popular low income benefit programs as we discussed here in this video including LIHEAP which is the low income home energy assistance program which offers utility assistance for millions of low income household. each year, roughly $6 billion for this program, however 85% of the money is allocated to heating homes in the winter and cold months, however that only leaves roughly 15% of allocated money for hot summer months. Top officials within HHS are calling on Congress to approve billions of dollars for the low income to also cool homes with air conditioning during the hot summer months as we are discussing here in this video. This is the LIHEAP program and other low income energy assistance programs.
