San Diego County has seen more than 50 wildland fires that have burned more than 2,800 acres so far this year and peak fire season hasn’t even arrived yet. Recent severe weather has sparked small brush fires due to lightening strikes, with lightening strikes accounting for a handful of brush fires every year in San Diego County. Firefighters urge San Diegans to do their part in keeping their property clear of debris, weeds, and other fuel sources to prevent brush fires.
