BIG NEWS! Maximum SNAP, EBT, P-EBT Food Stamps Benefits Extended & Coming
Households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits will continue to receive the maximum amount for their household size for the month of June. Additionally, SNAP recipients are able to purchase hot food prepared for immediate consumption with their Electronic Benefit Transfer card from deli departments at EBT authorized retailers through July 12 due to wildfires, announced the New Mexico Human Services Department. California is poised to become the first state in the nation to extend food assistance benefits to some undocumented immigrants. But advocates say it’s not enough. The budget bill the state Legislature passed Monday includes a proposal by Gov. Gavin Newsom to allow immigrants age 55 and older who are currently shut out of food stamp programs to receive the benefits. After being sued for dereliction of duty, Los Angeles County has agreed to speed up processing of emergency requests for government food assistance to thousands of monthly applicants urgently in need of food or a meal.
